The North Crowley Panthers Tennis Team was in action on Tuesday visiting the Arlington Bowie Volunteers. The Panthers were looking to get back on track after losing to the Lamar last week. The Panthers came out strong with the boys doubles sweeping 3-0. The girls doubles proved they too could come through when need going 2-1 with the #2 doubles of Seniors Abrian Johnson and Maria Martinez winning their match and the #3 doubles team of Senior Newcomer Gillian Harrison and Freshmore Maddy Miller holding their own and earning an impressive win. The mixed doubles fell short but Rodrigo Portillo and Jayla McGill competed well. The Panthers were up 5-2 heading into the singles and never looked back. The boys once again showed dominance as they swept the singles side with Junior Superchamp Jonny Vega leading the way and Seniors Kaleb Collins and Joe Darden, Junior Gio Rodriguez and sophomores Logan Smith and Colt Nickle securing wins. The girls pulled out wins to help the Panthers secure the win. Sr. Abrian Johnson and Gillian Harrison and Freshmore Maddy Miller grabbed wins bringing the match count to 14-5. The Panthers are now 2-1 in district and 7-5 overall. The Panthers shift their focus to next week which is the start to the gaunlet part of the district schedule as they host the Paschal Panthers.
