Multiple Teams · NC Pounds Abilene in Bi-District Action

NC’s Panther Field House – Fort Worth

The North Crowley Men’s Basketball Team scored early and often on their way to an easy 6A Region 1 Bi-District Playoff win Tuesday Night against the Abilene Eagles. NC entered the game 25-6 on the season and were 12-2 in Dist. 4-6A play and Co-District Champions with the Martin Warriors.  The Panthers entered the game as the 1 seed from 4-6A while the Eagles from Abilene entered the game as the 4th seed from District 3-6A.

North Crowley opened the game on a 10-0 run, fueled by Senior Wings, Tre Thomas & Jordon Myers.  The Panther defense was once again stifling as the Panthers only gave up 1 field goal to the Eagles in the entire first quarter (a three pointer that went in unintended off of the glass) and led 15-3 after one.

The Panther defense continued to force turnovers and the offense executed in transition with dunks from Thomas, Myers & Sr. Guard Kalem Hardaway.  The Panthers extended their lead to 35-12 at the half and never looked back on their way to an 84-35 victory.

Myers led the team in scoring with 22 points & steals with 6.  Thomas scored 18 on the night while leading the team in assists with 6.  Hardaway scored 14 onj the night to round out the Panthers double-digit scorers.  Sr. Forward Kevin Ellis led the team in rebounds with 8 and took a game high 2 charges.  Soph. G, Grant Sherfield also chipped in a nice stat line on the night with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

The win advanced the Panthers to the Area Round of the Playoffs on Friday night to face Wolfforth Frenship out of the Lubbock Area.  The game is set to be played at Abilene HS, Friday night 02/24/17 at 7:30.

The game can be seen live at on the “Blue Channel” at 7:30PM.
