The Panthers defeat Lamar (Arlington, TX) 4-1

Julian Jones went 2-3, sparking the Panthers to a 4-1 victory in seven innings over Lamar on Tuesday at Arlington Lamar High School.

He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Zach Carrion picked up the win for the Panthers. Carrion pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Nick Llorente ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 6 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.

The Panthers stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a two-run double by Chase Bell.

The Panthers built upon their lead with two runs in the sixth. Jones kicked things off with a single, plating Alex Garcia. That was followed up by Carrion’s single, scoring Jones.
